parkEC is the City of El Cerrito’s new parking management program designed to make on-street parking easy, convenient, and better suited to the needs of our growing community.

The City of El Cerrito is managing parkEC through its Community Development and Public Works Departments. These teams are working together to design, launch, and oversee the program with input from local residents, businesses, schools, and other partners.

El Cerrito is growing—with new housing, more visitors, and increased activity near BART stations and along San Pablo Avenue. At the same time, state laws are reducing parking requirements near transit. This means more cars are competing for fewer curbside spaces. parkEC is the City’s proactive step to manage demand, reduce congestion, and make parking easier before additional strain is placed on the system.

The parkEC program will focus on key areas where parking demand is highest. This includes neighborhoods around the El Cerrito Plaza and del Norte BART stations, as well as the San Pablo Avenue corridor. These locations are seeing the most growth and activity—and parkEC is designed to help manage curbside parking more effectively in these high-demand zones.
